King George IV British silver half crown 1826 auctioned on 14th August 2024
This coin was sold as part of Michael Hall's two day estate auction on the 14th and 15th August 2024. Michael was the owner and auctioneer of Halls Auctioneers in Galashiels. He was an serious collector of coins, medals and militaria. Other coin highlights from the auction include five early and pre United States of America half pennies and cents which realised £1,900 and an 1891 Carson City dollar realised £1,500 hammer price.
The 1826 half crown of King George IV was in a very good condition indeed. Graded by our specialist as AUNC, it found competitive bidding online and in the room, eventually selling to an English collector for £400.
