Four gold coins from 1937 break five figures

King George VI Coronation four-coin gold specimen set 1937

This set was the highlight of the July 2024 auction. Three internet bidders lost out to a buyer in the auction room who secured the set for the hammer price of £11,000. This was an excellent price acheived given that two sets were offered in May in other auction rooms which sold for £10,000 and £9,800.
